AASHTO CA10-4

This brief is the tenth in a series of briefs that constitute a body of knowledge describingcommuting in America. This body of work, sponsored by American Association of StateHighway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and carried out in conjunction with aNational Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) project that provided supportingdata, builds on three prior Commuting in America documents that were issued over thepast three decades. Unlike the prior reports that were single volumes, this effort consists ofa series of briefs, each of which addresses a critical aspect of commuting in America. Thesebriefs, taken together, comprise a comprehensive summary of American commuting. Thebriefs are disseminated through the AASHTO website (www.transportation.org). Accompanyingdata tables and an Executive Summary complete the body of information known asCommuting in America 2013 (CIA 2013).
