This document supersedes DO-181C published in 2001. Itprovides standards for Mode S airborne equipment (Mode Simplies a combined ATCRBS/Mode S capability). Incorporatedwithin these standards are system characteristics that will beuseful to users of the system as well as designers,manufacturers and installers. The document considers anequipment configuration consisting of: transponder, controlpanel, antenna and interconnecting cables. Level 1 throughLevel 5 transponders are addressed, test procedures areprovided as well as information for optional features. Itreflects the latest amendment to ICAO Annex 10.
