This document is created by AIAG's Metrology Interoperability Project Team. The goal of this document is to reduce product development cycle time and manufacturing costs by achieving interoperability of the software and hardware components used in automated metrology. The Project team agrees that acceptance and implementation of this standard will greatly improve the integration of dimensional inspection results into existing entrerprise-wide data management solutions. This integration will bring improved productivity, greater understanding of manufacturing processes and vastly improved quality.
