This paper examines some of the issues associated with integrating Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Technology, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) in water and wastewater utilities. These three systems comprise the heart of the operational computing support systems for many utilities and very often is seen as a standalone application with its own distinct function, separate from the others. The integrated information environment allows an organization to access, combine, and compare all of its data, regardless of the systems used to create the data in the first place.
