The authors developed a CAM system using the newly proposed Boundary-Map geometric model. The purpose of this research is to develop a new algorithm to create the cutter location data that is able to use any tool shape. Also, an accuracy of cutter location data created by the new algorithm is compared with that by Voxel data structure. As a result, the new algorithm is able to adapt to create contour and uni-direction cutter location data. From the result of various machining tests, it is confirmed that the cutter location data created based on Boundary-Map data structure is available to the execution of practical CAM.
